In the heart of the underworld, preparations for the annual Christmas celebration were in full swing. The air was filled with a sense of merry chaos as Lucifer and his band of Demon Maniacs decked the halls with all sorts of fiendish decorations. The biggest attraction of the evening, however, was the new addition to their crew: the Archangel Gabriel.
Gabriel, my friend, Lucifer said, handing him a string of twinkling Christmas lights. Never thought I'd see you here. How are you enjoying our little holiday cheer?
Gabriel chuckled, his radiant wings shimmering under the dim lights. Well, it’s certainly warmer than what I'm used to. But these lights! I never thought putting them up would be so... tricky.
Lucifer laughed, watching Gabriel wrestle with the tangled mess. They're a nightmare, aren't they? Almost as bad as finding a matching pair of socks.
As they worked on the tree, their conversation took a more serious turn. You know, Lucifer, Gabriel began, I've been thinking a lot about how humans treat their pets. It's like they forget these creatures have feelings, too.
Lucifer nodded, draping another set of lights around a branch. Exactly! They get them as if they're toys, then toss them aside when they get bored. It's appalling.
Imagine treating a cat like it's a hat, Gabriel added, making both of them laugh. It’s absurd.
Their banter was interrupted by a cackle from the corner. Ruby and Peggy Sue, two of Lucifer's most enthusiastic followers, were huddled around a TV, engrossed in the latest broadcast from the Inferno News Network.
Hey, check this out! Ruby called out. There’s been a bank robbery up in the mortal world.
Peggy Sue leaned closer to the screen, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. Detective Olivia and Gomez are on the case. They say it’s the work of the Grinch Gang.
Lucifer grinned, shaking his head. Ah, the Grinch Gang. Always up to no good this time of year. They could really use a hobby.
Gabriel raised an eyebrow. Maybe they should take up knitting. Make something useful for once.
The room erupted in laughter, the sound echoing through the infernal halls. As they continued to string lights and share jokes, the spirit of Christmas—demonic or otherwise—settled over them all. It was a reminder that even in the most unexpected places, a little holiday cheer could bring everyone together, angel and demon alike.
With the tree finally lit and glowing, Lucifer stepped back to admire their work. Well, Gabriel, it seems you’re a natural at this. Maybe Christmas with the Demon Maniacs isn’t so bad after all.
Gabriel smiled, his heart warm with the joy of the season. I have to admit, it's a hell of a good time.
